New Post and Idea:
Okay first off, I have a new post up a Do Some Damage today.
Secondly, I have an idea:

Here are some books on my TBR pile. I'd love to start a blog book club. The way I want to do it is this. We (in the comments) vote on one of these books from the pile and we read it. In let's say... 2 weeks (Labor Day Weekend?), I'll post some discussion questions about the books and we can discuss it over the weekend in the comments.
We will be able to talk about spoilers in the comments, though the questions will be largely spoiler free.
What do you guys think?
(If it's tough to see what the books are, they are: Looking for Alaska by John Green, The Secret Friend by Chris Mooney, The Gentlemen's Hous by Don Winslow, The Twelve by Stuart Neville, The 50/50 Killer by Steve Mosby, Paying for It by Tony Black, Old Flame by Ira Berkowitz, Half the Blood of Brooklyn and Every Last Drop by Charlie Huston, Starvation Lake by Bryan Gruley, Slammer by Al Guthrie, The Killing Moon by Chuck Hogan, The Strain by Chuck Hogan and Guillermo Del Toro, Even by Andrew Grat, A March to Madness by John Feinstein. ALSO not in the picture: All the Pretty Girls by JT Ellison, Person of Interest by Theresa Schwegel, and The Silent Hour by Michael Koryta)
Put your vote for the first book club book in the comments section, please.

Throw in a book by a female, please.
I'm not good at book clubs. I like to read whatever I feel like reading at the time, and it never seems to be the book the club's reading.
I'm kind of the same way, Bill. But I figured I'd give this a shot. That's why I'm letting people vote.. If no one votes... it doesn't work out. No big deal.
If you want me to post your idea as well, let me know. I bet Bill and Jeff would post it too.
Patti,
I would love for you repost this. Let me know if you do. Same goes for Bill and Jeff.
Get the word out!
I've had Starvation Lake on my TBR pile for ages. (It got bumped off my trip to Paris by Megan Abbott's very fine Bury Me Deep) So I'd vote for that one. Whenever you decide to get around to it :)
I've already read "All the Pretty Girls" by KT Ellison, but I would recommend it as an option. I really enjoyed it.
Yes, JT's "All the Pretty Girls" would be fun--and thrilling!
Jt's ALL THE PRETTY GIRLS.

I love the book discussion idea!
I've read ALL THE PRETTY GIRLS and could take part in a discussion of it, but my vote goes to LOOKING FOR ALASKA. I love the vlogbrothers (thanks to your original tweet of the Nerdfighters song video!) and really need to read both LOOKING FOR ALASKA and PAPER TOWNS. This would be a great way to get started!

The 50/50 Killer by Steve Mosby
Definitely check out EVEN by Andrew Grant...I couldn't put it down!
Hi, I don't get much chance to read as much as I'd like, but I'd definitely recommend "Even" by Andrew Grant.....it captured me from the outset and retained my attention throughout...definitely gets my vote!
I posted it today. I forgot to come back and see if you wanted me to.
I've already read Guthrie's SLAMMER and it is a great great book.
So that needs to be read. But I'll join in and go with whatever the overall vote is.
Absolutely begin with EVEN, by Andrew Grant. You will not go wrong!
I'm in. Just tell me what to read. Just bought SLAMMER and will read that anyway. All of them look good. Except Junior.
Sounds like fun. I'll vote for John Green's Looking for Alaska which appeals to the former YA librarian in me. But I'll attempt to read any of the selections.
Especially if I don't have to make up the questions.
I'm game. Haven't read any of these. Let me know which one to pick up.
I'll join in the club. I'd like anything with a happy ending, because I need to escape reality.
(Not sure why my first comment didn't take) I tentatively will throw in my hat. I'm more like Bill in that I want to read what I fell like reading when I feel like reading it. I just joined a SF book club and I picked the first book...and couldn't finish it. The novel failed the 100-page rule but, perhaps, it wasn't the book I wanted to read right then. Dunno. Still, I like the idea of an online/blog book club.
Hi
I've been introduced to your blog by Andrew Grant and as Even is one of the titles under consideration, I think you should start with it.
I really enjoyed it
Really trustworthy blog thanks.
